Carter Verhaeghe Scores Game-Winning Goal

Bobrovsky Shines With 32-Save Shutout

The Florida Panthers took Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final with a resounding 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers at Amerant Bank Arena. Sergei Bobrovsky was unbeatable in goal, stopping all 32 shots he faced for the Panthers.

Carter Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal in the third period, breaking the stalemate and giving the Panthers their first lead of the game. Sam Reinhart and Aleksander Barkov added empty-net goals to seal the win.

The Oilers, who were looking to steal home-ice advantage in the series, were unable to find the back of the net. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, the Oilers' top two scorers, were held off the scoresheet by the Panthers' disciplined defense.

Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final will be played on Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers will look to take a commanding lead in the series, while the Oilers will need to bounce back and tie the series before heading home.
