Argentinian pesos get a new look
10,000-peso notes now in circulation
The Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) has put the country's first 10,000-peso notes into circulation. The new banknotes are part of a long-awaited effort to streamline the nation's cumbersome currency system. The BCRA plans to issue 20,000-peso notes later this year. The new bills are designed to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the financial system.
Security features
The new 10,000-peso note includes a number of security features to prevent counterfeiting. These include a watermark, a security thread, and a holographic image. The note also has a tactile feature for the visually impaired.
